Cheesy chicken and apple panini

 Hot off the [panini] press! This sandwich has filling fiber and plenty of protein to keep you satisfied until your next meal.


Ingredients

2 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2 ounces fat-free cream cheese, softened
8 slices whole-grain bread
6 ounces shredded chicken breast, heated
1 large Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  2. In a small bowl, combine cheddar cheese and cream cheese. Stir. Spread 1/4 of the mixture on a slice of bread. Repeat on three more slices of bread.
  3. Divide chicken evenly between 4 slices of bread. Top each with apple slices and cover with another slice of bread.
  4. Place sandwiches in panini press and cook on high heat for 2 to 4 minutes.
  5. Cut sandwiches in half and serve warm.
